WAXAHACHIE

The year 1914 brought the opening of a hospital in Waxahachie which later joined the Baylor Health Care System in 1983. A new expansion is underway to serve the surrounding community, thanks to a $175.5 million campus planned for a 52-acre site at the intersection of Interstate 35E and U.S. Highway 287. A comprehensive fundraising initiative will also be launched in support of the new facility, which is expected to provide increased visibility and familiarity with Baylor Health Care System in the surrounding areas.

Demolition of the buildings currently on the planned campus site has already begun and the new project is expected to break ground in spring 2013. The first phase of the project, a 75,000-square-foot medical office building housing physicians and health care related programs, is slated to open in December 2013. The larger campus project is expected to open in November 2014; the 100th anniversary of Baylor Waxahachie’s opening in 1914.
