Baylor Health Care System is among a small number of institutions that practice an integrated approach to cardiovascular care, with the ability to practice excellent medicine, study medicine from a practical and intellectual perspective and oversee the delivery of health care.
Heart disease, the number one cause of death, takes someone's life every 33 seconds in the U.S. We're studying new drugs with potential life-saving effects, from lowering cholesterol levels and blood pressure to increasing blood flow to the legs and reducing arterial inflammation. With 80 ongoing studies, we've invested significant time and resources in cardiovascular research to improve and extend lives.
