Diabetes Care
Research, education, and a center of excellence in South Dallas
The diabetes program at Baylor Health Care System encompasses disease management, advanced treatment, and leading edge research -- from classes that teach people to control their diabetes to a host of exciting research initiatives studying innovative therapies.
This initiative is especially important in Dallas County, and particularly its southern sector, which has a higher prevalence of diabetes than the nation and the state. To help alleviate this problem, Baylor has created a center of excellence at the Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center in the Frazier community of South Dallas. Its goal is to improve the care and save the lives of people with diabetes by creating a family-centric model that focuses on health care, education and research.
